John 10: 22-30 v 30 “The Father and I are one.”
It was winter, Jesus was in Jerusalem. The people surrounded Him and said” How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.” Jesus replied” I have already told you, and you don’t believe me. The proof- the work I do in my Father’s name. My sheep listen to my voice, follow me. I give them eternal life. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.
I used to sing in a choir and my favorite anthem was “Like as a father.” A strong alto used to stand next to me and if I could follow her, together as a choir, we made a wonderful sound. Many parts joining as one. Jesus also joins with the Father as one. To make up our complete understanding of God. Our faith at times is stronger than at others and like the people we ask God again to confirm who He is to us. And Jesus replied were you not listening?

Two lessons today then, God and Jesus are one. If you hear from Jesus, God is also talking and listening and nothing will change the fact that we are his sheep and Jesus is the shepherd. Quit worrying and make time to listen to His voice.
Prayer: Almighty God who is one with Jesus, we thank you for the lessons we learn every day as we listen to your voice. Amen.
