John 14: 21-29 v 26 “But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative- that is, the Holy Spirit- he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything that I have told you.”
“Lord, why are you going to reveal yourself only to us and not to the world at large?” Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them. What I am telling you is from the Father who sent me. But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative- that is, the Holy Spirit- he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything that I have told you. I am leaving you with a gift- peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
It is always so good to learn and this week I am learning that new research is saying that our genetic makeup is only a small part of who we are. That with the support of others around us we can truly be the person we want to be. And even though there are nasty chemicals and things in the environment that affect some people for others they have no affect. And today we can read in the bible from John 14 that for the ultimate peace of heart and mind whatever those around us are doing it is through understanding and believing in the relationship between the Father who holds the power, the Son who is our example and has the words for us to understand, and with guidance from the Holy Spirit we are given the gift of peace of mind and heart.
Live with peace of mind and heart today, believing in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Prayer: Heavenly Father thank you for the peace of mind and heart that you give to all who ask in the name of your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.
