Shaken and Filled

Isaiah 6: 1-7 v 4 “Their voices shook the Temple to its foundations, and the entire building was filled with smoke.”

It was in the year King Uzziah died that I saw the Lord. He was sitting on a lofty throne. Attending him were mighty seraphim. They were calling out to each other, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Heaven’s armies! The whole earth is filled with His glory!” Their voices shook the Temple to its foundations, and the entire building was filled with smoke. Then I said,” It is over! I am doomed, for I am a sinful man. I have filthy lips, and I live among a people with filthy lips. He touched my lips with a hot coal from the altar. Your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven.

“Yet I have seen the King, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.” Isaiah 6:v 5c

Isaiah remembers clearly the day he had a vision of the Lord. Have you had an experience of the Lord you can clearly remember? He remembers the seraphim singing. They shook the room and filled it with smoke. Was the world around you shaken by the experience? Where you filled, as the room was filled with smoke? Then after this great experience did you feel guilty or unworthy as Isaiah did?  Unlike Isaiah, Jesus removed our guilt and forgave us our sins. The Lord, Jesus and the Holy spirit are with us always.

Prayer:  Holy God, we thank you for shaking our world and filling us with your presence. Amen.
