Family fun day: Hope

“I hope that you have a good day!”

“I hope that next week you will feel better”

“I hope to do better next time”

As a family become stronger together with a discussion about hope. Sit together around a table with three or four bowls of treats in the middle.  State “I hope that we are going to have a good chat/talk/conversation.” (pick the one all will understand)

“Hope gives us confidence” Psalm 25:3

Then ask, “what does that word hope mean?”     Give only the first person who answers a choice of the treats on the table.

State “I hope that we can all have a treat by being a part of the conversation.”  Hope is difficult to understand, but it is important to have and makes you feel happier every day. Looking forward to good things like having a treat, being positive “is the glass half full or half empty” by looking at the big picture, as an example if you don’t like school today, one day you will be old enough to not go to school anymore! You can encourage others to have hope by saying something nice about them or by looking forward to things you might like to do when you are on summer vacation. Continue to have a conversation about hope using these ideas and enjoy the treats!!

I hope that you enjoy your time together as a family!

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15 v 13
