The Lord appeared again to Abraham. He looked up and noticed three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he ran to meet them and welcomed them, bowing low to the ground.” Since you’ve honored your servant with this visit, let me prepare some food to refresh you before you continue on your journey.” As they ate, Abraham waited on them in the shade of the trees. Then one of them said, “I will return to you about this time next year, and your wife, Sarah, will have a son!” Abraham and Sarah were both very old by this time. So, she laughed silently to herself. Then the man replied” Is anything too hard for the Lord?”
An ordinary day for Abraham and Sarah turned into an extraordinary encounter that dramatically changed the lives of this old couple. The three men, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit came for a visit to an old and faithful couple as they were going about the routine of a normal day. Abraham immediately understood what an occasion it was and welcomed them, Sarah laughed at the fantastical promise they made, which came true.
Look for God in your everyday lives. He will come unexpectedly and tell you amazing things, even if you are old and feel past your time to act on His behalf. Remember “Is anything too hard for the Lord?”
