Who may worship in your sanctuary Lord?

Psalm 15 v 2 “Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts.”

Who may worship? Who may enter your presence? Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. Those who refuse to gossip or speak evil of friends. Those who despise flagrant sinners, keep their promises even when it hurts. Those who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent. Such people will stand firm forever.

Some days we just don’t measure up to the ideal God has planned for us. Reading this list of things that we need to do and things we need to avoid all makes sense. This week as a family we have been struggling with the disciplining of our grandchildren. From 18 months to five years old they are delighted to play with each other, but within an hour or so there are tears and fights about who is in the lead, who has rights to the toys at Grannie and Popa’s house and who tells on who so as not to get into trouble. The Lord has seen it all before as He encourages the psalmist to write about the things we should all be concentrating on so that we can stand firm together, forever. Gratefully we live today with Jesus who was sent as we like our grandchildren fall short of the lessons we have learnt to share, to be nice to each other, not to hit! Spending time apart even for a few minutes helps everyone to readjust attitudes, forgive, and play nicely together. If you are falling short of this list of things you know you need to be, then sit quietly ,alone with the Lord, ask Jesus to help you and the Holy Spirit to guide you, just as “It Takes a Village to raise a child” it takes the trinity to raise a Christian to stand firm forever.

” Those who keep their promises even when it hurts.” Psalm 15 v 4b

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for the love that sent Jesus to save us, and the Holy spirit to guide us. Please be with us every day so that we can stand firm forever. Amen.
