Colossians 3: 5-17 v 12 “Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tender hearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.”
So put to death the sinful earthly things lurking in you. Don’t be greedy for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old nature and all its wicked deeds. Put on your new nature, and be renewed, as you learn to know your creator, and become like Him. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us. Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tender hearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowances for each other’s faults, forgive, love and live in harmony with each other. Do all as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

We have all been in situations where we have been chosen. To be part of a team, to be selected for a particular University course, or another program of education, a particular job that you wanted. It felt good to receive the official letter or call that your application had been successful, you were heading in a new direction that was exciting and would open your life to different opportunities. The greatest application you can make is to be a representative of the Lord Jesus. In reading this today I used to think that it was a small exclusive club that you would be joining, chosen by God, as I was aware that many people around me are not part of that club. But I noticed today that it is a process open to all, anyone can apply, at any time, any age. We can all be on team Jesus, members of the club, in the best job working for God, loved by Him! Why not apply today or sing a song of thankfulness if you are already on team Jesus. Then take to heart all the things we strive to do to be more like Him.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for choosing us to be on your team. Help us to grow more like Jesus every day, in whose name we pray. Amen.
