Genesis 15: 1-6 v 5 “Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him,” Look up into the sky and count the stars. That’s how many descendants you will have.”
The Lord spoke to Abram in a vision and said to him, “Do not be afraid, Abram, for I will protect you, and your reward will be great.” But Abram replied, “What good are all your blessings when I don’t even have a son. You have given me no descendants of my own, so one of my servants will be my heir.” Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him,” Look up into the sky and count the stars. That’s how many descendants you will have.”

This passage reminds us that what is important to us is also important to God. That His picture is always bigger than our own and the important thing is to look up! This week for me has been a contrast in having fun, went to the horse races and theatre in Toronto, played golf. Working hard helping with renovations and studying for my exams next week as well as putting together some thoughts for Wednesday’s worship. God blesses us everyday whatever we are doing, so remember do not be afraid! Count the stars!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for all the blessings we have had this week as we work and play knowing that you listen to our needs. Help us to look up to the stars and continue to imagine with you the wonders of this wonderful world. Amen.
