Our Shield!

Psalm 33 10-21v 20 “We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield.”

The Lord frustrates the plans of the nations and thwarts all their schemes. But the Lords plans stand firm forever, His intentions can never be shaken. What joy. The Lord looks down from heaven and sees the whole human race. He made their hearts, so He understands everything that they do. Don’t count on your warhorse to save you. But the Lord watches over those who fear Him. We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield.

The wonderful thing about the bible is the many different people who have been involved in writing it and the consistency of the message of support we get from God when we are doing His work. We can look forward with joy, when we know the Lord is a part of our day and the things important to Him will happen. Why? Because He sees the entire world. He understands everything that we do. And sometimes I think He laughs when we try and do things on our own. Shakes His head as we take on too many tasks. Wonders what we are doing as tasks feel in our hearts too big for us. But no, He quietly reminds us we have the assurance that God sees the whole human race. He puts the right people in the right places throughout the world. He is our help and our shield. Climb down from your warhorse today and put your hope in God.

Prayer: Heavenly Father who sees all, knows all, thank you for the reminder that when you are in charge good things will happen. As your children you know how to be a good parent and remind us that you understand our worries and will be our shield. Amen.
