Hebrews 11: 1-6 v 6 “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.”
Faith shows the reality of what we hope for, it is the evidence of what we don’t see. By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. Although Abel is long dead he still speaks to us by his example of faith. And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.
There are many things I struggle with in my life and in my faith journey but the fact for me is that God exists. He watches over us. And for a complete and contented life he must be a part of it. He also gives us the choice and helps us to make good choices, which is what Abel did. He pleased God with his sacrifice as he gave the best of what he had. Cain gave him some of what he had. God wants us to give our best to Him. And for that He will reward us. The rewards for some will be material wealth, for others a wealth of wisdom and for me a learning, serving heart. Rejoice today in your faith knowing that God exists and be thankful for the rewards He has given you. Have a great day!
Prayer: Holy God who exists all around us, above us in heaven, beside us in Jesus and inside us with the Holy Spirit. Thank you for all the wonderful rewards you give us as we journey daily in our faith. Amen.
