What cannot be shaken!

Hebrews 12: 18-29 v 27 The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.

You have not come to a mountain that can be touched, to a trumpet blast, to a voice that that those who hear it begged no further word be spoken. The sight was so terrifying that Moses was trembling with fear. You have come to the city of the living God. You have come to thousands of angels in joyful assembly. You have come to God, he judge of all, to Jesus the mediator, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word. See to it that you do not refuse Him who speaks. He will shake the earth and the heavens once more. The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain. A kingdom that cannot be shaken, be thankful and worship god with reverence and awe. Our God is a consuming fire!

On vacation there are so many other voices to listen to, as outside of our normal routine the desires to change things up a bit, relax, and sleep in instead of getting up and reading from God’s word. To talk with those around you instead of God. But he is there also. Not as for Moses who trembled with fear but as a gentle prod that love is required, not jealousy. That being in the moment to cherish the things that cannot be shaken, family connectedness, loving words shared, holding back of advice that divides. Remembering to be thankful and to worship God who is like a consuming fire who gathers in all who love Him.

But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. Hebrews 12 v 22a

Prayer: Heavenly Father who loving judges us, gives us Jesus as an example and the Holy spirit to guide us be near even when we falter as routines change on vacation. Help us to be thankful always
