Mercy

1 Timothy: 1: 12-17 v 16 “But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of His great patience with even the worst sinners.”

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength to do His work. In my insolence I persecuted His people. Oh, how generous and gracious our Lord was! He filled me with the grace and love that come from Christ Jesus. “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in Him and receive eternal life. He alone is God. Amen.

“I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength to do His work.”
1 Timothy 1v 12

Have you ever been in a situation when you have power over someone? From something as simple as having the right of way in a parking lot and showing mercy by letting someone come into the queue in front of you. To being in a position of authority, as a teacher, a policeman or coach knowing that someone broke the rules, not handing homework in on time, speeding, being late for practice, but showing mercy and giving them a break? So, our God is generous and gracious to us. He knows we need help to live in peace with our neighbors and ourselves. He shows mercy to us and wants us to pass it on to others so they too can believe in a God more powerful than us.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for showing mercy to us sinners, as we learn to be more generous and gracious in our lives. Amen
