2 Timothy: 1: 1-14 v 13 “Hold on to the pattern of wholesome teaching you have learned from me- a pattern shaped by the faith and love that you have in Christ Jesus.”
I have been sent out to tell others about the life He has promised through faith in Christ Jesus. May God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord give you grace, mercy and peace. Night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. I remember your genuine faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice. I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self discipline. So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. Hold on to the pattern of wholesome teaching you have learned from me- a pattern shaped by the faith and love that you have in Christ Jesus. Carefully guard the precious truth that has been entrusted to you.
The truth is simple. God is real. He gives us spiritual gifts and guides us when we use them. He gives you grace, mercy and peace and power, love and self discipline. He notices that your faith may have been present in your family for many generations, from grandparents, parents and children. Hold on to the pattern of teaching that was shaped by Jesus Christ. Use stories of your own life to inspire others and continue to share His words to the world.
Prayer: Heavenly Father who guides us as we journey through life we thank you for the amazing words that help us to live a better life, in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
