Our Duty

Luke 17: 5-10 v 10 “In the same way, when you obey me, you should say,’ We are unworthy servants who have simply done our duty.’

The apostles said to the Lord,” Show us how to increase our faith” The Lord answered,” faith even as small as a mustard seed, could uproot a tree and be planted in the sea.  When a servant comes in from the fields does the master day” come and eat with me?” And does the master thank the servant for doing what he was told to do? Of course not. In the same way, when you obey me, you should say,’ We are unworthy servants who have simply done our duty.’

“And does the master thank the servant for doing what he was told to do? Of course not.” Luke 17 v 9

It is always a battle. Our human needs verses our spiritual needs. Being proud and excited about doing God’s work or simply doing our duty. Wanting thanks for doing good things and just getting the job done. To humbly walk our faith journey with faith the size of a mustard seed we are only doing the job that God asked us to do.

Humbly walk with God today and every day.

Prayer: Heavenly Father who knows what is on our hearts before we come to you help us to do our duty as we humbly walk your way. Amen.
