Psalm 84:5-6 “What joy for those whose strength comes from the LORD, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. When they walk through the Valley of Weeping it will become a place of refreshing springs. The autumn rains will clothe it with blessings.”
In the days of old, people left on a pilgrimage to the Temple. It says they passed through a barren valley, but no name has been given with regards to this. Maybe it referred to struggles that people went through to meet with God.
Have you ever struggled with something during a season of your life? Maybe the death of a loved one, or the loss of a job. I’m sure some of our struggles brought tears, and maybe it felt like you were going through a dark valley of weeping. But take heart, because the Holy Spirit is our comforter. Ask for the Holy Spirit of God to comfort you when struggles become too difficult. As we ask for the Spirit’s Presence, we will not only be comforted, we will be given strength to move forward with joy in our hearts.
Prayer: Loving God, we are so grateful for the Holy Spirit. Thank you for comfort and for the joy that follows as we move from struggles to victory in Christ. Amen.
