There Will Come a Day

Psalm 145:13-14 “For Your Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. The LORD always keeps His promises He is gracious in all He does. The LORD helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads.”

King David says in the Psalm that there will come a time when all people will join together in recognizing and worshiping God. Because God is full of love, He satisfies all who trust in Him.

Sometimes our burdens seem more than we can bear, and we wonder how we can go on. But David stands at this bleak intersection of life’s road and meditates on the LORD, the great burden bearer. God is able to lift us up because (1) His greatness is beyond discovery; (2) He does mighty acts for each generation, (3) He is full of majestic, glorious splendor and He does awe-inspiring deeds; (4) He is righteous, kind, merciful, patient and compassionate. He rules over an everlasting Kingdom, and is the Source of our every need.

Prayer: Generous and loving God, we are so grateful for Your love and all the blessings You give us. And we appreciate that You hear our cries and rescue us when we call on You. Like King David, we are amazed by Your awesome power and steadfast love. As we praise You and focus on You, our worries don’t seem so overwhelming. In gratitude we pray in the name of Jesus, amen.
