God’s Plan

Ephesians 3 1-12 v 6 “And this is God’s plan: Both Gentiles and Jews who believe the Good News share equally in the riches inherited by God’s children.”

I Paul, assuming that you know, God gave me the special responsibility of extending His grace to you Gentiles. God himself revealed his mysterious plan to me. And this is God’s plan: Both Gentiles and Jews who believe the Good News share equally in the riches inherited by God’s children. Both are part of the same body, and both enjoy the promise of blessings because they belong to Christ Jesus. God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. Because of Christ and our faith in Him we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence.

Sometimes I find that having plans for my day makes the days fly by and I wish for some time just to be quiet by myself, for time not to rush by. Then I am bored without anything to do, and more recently as my days fill up, and a few times when I have nothing planned, I find myself looking after sick kids, I am worried what calamity will fill my days when I have an open spot in my calendar. Paul, in contrast, is totally reconciled to the job he has to do, and how to spend his time. He listened to God’s plan, had a deep faith in Jesus Christ, and was aware that his time was different from those who lived before Christ, and because of Him we can have direct communication with God. This reminds us to give our planning concerns to God. He will guide us if we listen to the Holy spirit, to use us to display His wisdom.  In the name of Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Holy God who has a plan for us all, open our hearts and minds to listen to your plan and the boldly carry it out in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

“This was His eternal plan, which He carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Ephesians 3 v 11
