Look at my servant…..

 Isaiah 42: 1-9 v 3 “He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle. He will bring justice to all who have been wronged.”

He is my chosen one. He will not shout or raise His voice in public. He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle. He will bring justice to all who have been wronged. He will not falter or lose heart. I will take you by the hand and guard you. You will be a light to guide the nations. You will open the eye of the blind. Free the captives from prison. I will tell you the future before it happens.

God is the only one who knows the future and He has a path for us. Here we can look at the character of Jesus, and as we want to grow more like Him, the things that we should be. To gently go through life, respecting all that you pass by not crushing a reed or putting out a flickering candle. To be reassured that God will take you by the hand and guard you, as you become a light to guide the nations. Of course, we all fall short of Jesus’s ideal, but we can work towards it. Make sure today you can be a light that shares some of these qualities.

Prayer: Almighty God who made the heavens and the earth, hold our hands today as we try and shine your light for others to see. Amen.
