Be very Glad!

Matthew 5: 1-12 v 12 “Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven.”

The crowds were gathering. Jesus went up the mountainside, sat down. His disciples gathered around him, and he began to teach them. God blesses, the poor, those who mourn, the humble, those who hunger and thirst for justice. God blesses those who are merciful, whose hearts are pure, who work for peace and are persecuted for doing right. God blesses you when people mock you because you are my follower. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven.

“and he began to teach them.” Matthew 5 v 2

This week has been about questions, and this passage is all about answers from God so I, through inspiration from the Holy Spirit am providing the questions God is always with you even as this list suggest at all the worst times you can think about. If these things happen to you, God will bless you! As always God turns the tables on the things we value in this world. He values bad times and will reward you in heaven! So, we can be happy and glad! And this we know to be true. Ponder these questions today as God gives us glimpses here on earth of the wonders of heaven! Have you ever laughed at a funeral? Seen the smile on a poor person’s face as they eat a meal provided by volunteers? Witnessed the tireless work of good people as they seem to be like the energizer bunny, they just keep going? Been brought down when you bring God into the conversation?

Be happy! Be glad!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you today for all the trials that we have been through that shaped us into the faithful people we are today. Bless all those who read this blog post and encourage them to be very glad in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
