Experiences

 2 Peter 1: 16- 21 v 19 “Because of that experience, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets.”

For we were not making up cleaver stories when we told you about the powerful coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We saw his majestic splendor with our own eyes. We ourselves heard that voice from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. Because of that experience, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. Those prophets were moved by the Holy spirit, and they spoke from God.

Last week I was visiting with a friend and was asked to recount my experiences on a trip to Africa. It was the second time I had been there and quite a different experience. Instead of being on my own in the large guest house there were always four or more people living there with me. All Christian people that I was able to learn from. I was able to connect daily with family as I had a better phone, and the internet connection was there when I needed it. The past experiences and this new experience increased my confidence in God, in His power, and His security. If you are lacking in confidence in God, then ask Him for experiences that will help you grow. But be warned, they will be life changing!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, in whom we trust, we thank you for the experiences that come from you as they help us to grow in confidence. We ask that you continue our growth in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
