Genesis 2:15-17; 3:1-7 v 7 “At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness.”
The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Edan to tend and watch over it. You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden- except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals. He said to the women, “You won’t die! God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it.” So, she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband. At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.
What comes to mind immediately in the saying “Curiosity killed the cat!” I am sure we can all recall a time when we heard something that changed our opinion of someone and then there was no going back. Our eyes were opened to the good or the bad just as Adam and Eve were in the garden. A few choice words by the serpent and they both ate the forbidden fruit, and suddenly they felt shame. And they had to change themselves, cover their nakedness. And we too move forward with a different attitude. Today open your eyes to the love of God. Despite the terrible things that have been done in our history in His name, with a loving and forgiving attitude open your eyes to the good things.

Prayer: Almighty God open our eyes today to the good things in this world that you have provided. We are thankful for the example of your Son, Jesus, as we daily try and walk with Him. Amen.
