Psalm 32 v “Therefore let all the godly pray to you while there is still time, that they might not drown in the floodwaters of judgement.”
Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat. Therefore, let all the godly pray to you while there is still time, that they might not drown in the floodwaters of judgement. The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.”

If winning was easy, it wouldn’t be so much fun when you do win. Watching this week both the Canadian women and men’s ice hockey teams lose the gold medal game at the Olympics was sad. But it was God’s plan. And He has the best pathway for our lives. So how do we get to the joy, to feel surrounded by His love, and to shout for joy? Even though we think life is difficult the answer to that question is here too. We pray. We honestly confess our sins and stop trying to hide our guilt.
Prayer: Lord, I commit my failures as well as my successes into your hands, the situations, the wrongs, and the hurts of the past. Give me courage, strength and generosity to let go and leave the past behind me and live the present fully. Lead me always to be positive as I entrust the past to your mercy, the present to your love, and the future to you as you guide me along the best pathways for my life. Amen.
