Decisions!

Romans 5:12-19 v 15 “But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. “

When Adam sinned death entered the world. Yes, people sinned even before the law was given. Now Adam is a symbol, a representation of Christ who was yet to come. But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. Yes, Adam’s sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.

“Now Adam is a symbol, a representation of Christ, who was yet to come.” Romans 5 v 14b

And simply put, our Christian story, from the beginning of time, is about making right choices and Adam made a mistake that we are all capable of. Sometimes we make decisions knowing that others will be hurt. Sometimes we make decisions that we think are “good” or “for the best” and they don’t turn out so good. And God saw our dilemma, after giving us laws to follow that are constantly broken He had to find a way for us to be made right and that was the role of Jesus. One man, died for all our wrong decisions, mistakes, sins. And because of that we all get another chance to live a better life. Because one person obeys God, many will be made good! Asking God for forgiveness is a good decision. Trying again is a good way forward. God’s wonderful grace and His gift of forgiveness is available to all!

Prayer: Almighty God who knows what we need to live our best life. Open our hearts to make the right decisons today. Amen.
