Right Relationship

Romans 4: 1-5, 13-17 v 13 Clearly God’s promise to give the whole earth to Abraham and his descendants was based not on his obedience to God’s law, but on a right relationship with God that comes by faith.”

Abraham was, humanly speaking, the founder of our Jewish nation. What did he discover about being made right with God? For the scriptures tell us, “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith. When people work their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned. But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners. Clearly God’s promise to give the whole earth to Abraham and his descendants was based not on his obedience to God’ law, but on a right relationship with God that comes by faith.” For Abraham is the father of all who believe.

There are many promises in the bible between God and His people. This is amazing that I as a believer and you too are a relative of Abraham. Sometimes I wonder if writing this blog or praying or reading the bible is a good way to spend my time. This passage from the bible tells me it is. Deepening my faith in a God who is already bigger than I can imagine is never a waste of time. Living each day grounded in a loving God helps us all get through the bad days, the sad days, the long nights, the lonely, travelled roads. Love wins and faith brings us back to the joy we cannot explain but is there forever, for everyone who believes, a gift. Be in right relationship with God today and for all of your days.

“So the promise is received by faith. It is given as a free gift.” Romans 4 v 16

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we are sorry for the things we have done that are not according to your laws this week. We thank you for the promise of your forgiveness, and we love you too. Amen.
