Colossians 3: 1-4 v 2 “Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.”
Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. Your real life is hidden with Christ in God.
My grandchildren love to play the game hide and seek. They are getting very good at being very quiet when I am looking for them. I make a point of being very noisy as I search for them, calling out that “No they are not under the table.” There is lots of excitement when they are finally found. And then we have to do it all over again! I wonder what they are thinking as they wait in that quiet place? God tells us to go to a quiet room to pray. Is our real life in that quiet hiding place with Christ? Can we resist the noises we hear outside our hiding place to focus on heaven? The Easter story is not the end but the chance to celebrate a new beginning, to live with the risen Christ. To think about heaven and not the things of earth. It is easy to think of God in a quiet place but try and think of Him throughout you day today and see the difference in your day because one of His promises is to give you peace and joy.
Prayer: Heavenly Father we thank you for sending your son so that we can focus on the things of heaven more than the earth every day. Amen.
