Acts 2: 14a, 22-32 v 22 “People of Israel, listen! God publicly endorsed Jesus the Nazarene by doing powerful miracles, wonders, and signs through Him, as you well know. V 32 “God raised Jesus from the dead, and we are all witnesses of this.”
Then Peter stepped forward with the eleven other apostles and shouted to the crowd, “Listen carefully all of you.” People of Israel, listen! God publicly endorsed Jesus the Nazarene by doing powerful miracles, wonders, and signs through Him, as you well know. With the help of lawless Gentiles, you nailed Him to a cross and killed Him. King David said this about Him: “For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow the Holy One to rot in the grave.” David was looking into the future and speaking of the Messiah’s resurrection. God raised Jesus from the dead, and we are all witnesses of this.
No internet or social media but the message about Jesus spread around the world and is still important for us to listen to today. A man who was able to perform miracles, a God who did not die. As witnesses of miracles performed on this earth and as believers in a living Christ we too can shout out to others that He is alive today. Halleluiah He is Risen! Rejoice and be glad!
Prayer: Heavenly God who came to this earth in the form of Jesus so that all could be made whole we thank you, praise you and give you the love that you first gave to us. Allow us to listen carefully to be able to shine that love to the world. Amen.
