Philippians 3: 4b-14 v 8 Yes everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.”
In this letter to the Philippians Paul explains who he was and how his core values changed by knowing who Jesus was and what he did. Paul from birth a member of the tribe of Benjamin had been a faithful Jew, strictly following all the Jewish laws, even to the point of persecuting followers of Jesus. However, Paul realized that following these laws was worthless because of what Christ had done. Yes, “everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.” For Gods way of making us right with himself depends on faith. Paul continues the journey towards perfection, and the end of the race when you receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

This time of Lent is about reflecting of what Jesus’ death and resurrection means in our daily lives. As Paul describes how his life was changed dramatically. I to have been a follower of Christ from birth and even before I was born by great grandparents met as orphans in the home George Müller (born Johann Georg Ferdinand Müller, 27 September 1805 – 10 March 1898) founded. He was a Christian evangelist and the director of the Ashley Down orphanage in Bristol, England. He cared for 10,024 orphans during his lifetime and provided educational opportunities for the orphans to the point that he was even accused by some of raising the poor above their natural station in British life. He established 117 schools which offered Christian education to more than 120,000. However, there is a point in everyone’s life when they have to personally commit to Christ and for me that happened when I was a teenager. It wasn’t a dramatic conversion as Paul’s was , but quietly over the years my life has changed. Even during the pandemic I have experienced the profound changes that can occur during this journey. My understanding of walking humbly with God is leading me to a different type of church experience as God has given me the time to write daily about His amazing work and the life he promises here on earth where joy can be found in all things, in the suffering and in good times, as we wait for the heavenly prize of eternally praising God. Yes everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.”
