In Ontario where I live the winter days are short, so the chance of being out in the sun gets more difficult. This year we have had only 30 hours of actual sunshine since the beginning of winter ( December 22nd 2023) until now!
Frostbite is freezing of the skin and tissues below the skin. It occurs when a person is exposed to freezing temperatures [ 0°C (32°F)] or lower for too long. A quote from My Health Alberta where it has been much colder :-
January 12, 2024 will go down in Alberta history as the day that at least 38 all-time cold records were broken.
This comes as the entirety of Alberta remains under an extreme cold warning which states that Saturday and Sunday morning will be the coldest with temperatures ranging from -40 to -50, and wind chill values near -55.
Dense ice fog is also lingering and could last into Saturday afternoon.
Temperatures are forecast to warm up somewhat starting Monday.

Turn on some sunny music, or beach music, get out the sunglasses, dance around then lie on the floor and imagine the sun is shining!
To get you started!!
