Mark 8:31-38 v 33 “Jesus turned around and looked at His disciples, then reprimanded Peter. “Get away from me, Satan.” He said. “You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.”
Jesus began to tell the disciples that the Son of Man must suffer many terrible things. He would be killed and three days later He would rise from the dead. Peter took Him aside and began to reprimand Him. Jesus turned around and looked at His disciples, then reprimanded Peter. “Get away from me, Satan.” He said, “You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.” Jesus turned to the crowd and said “If any of you want to follow me you must take up your cross. If you try and hang on to your life you will lose it. And what do you benefit, if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?

In many parts of the world the drab and dreary winter is giving way to spring. The sun is getting warmer, spring flowers are starting to grow and bloom, and in that we see the good of God. We can create ideal conditions to artificially grow our food but there is nothing like the taste of a tomato grown in your own garden or on a patio ripened by the sun. And life is like that too. The grey, the cold, the isolation of winter gets us down. So look for God today in your life not the things of man. Look outside for the signs of spring, smile at a stranger, and give to others. Things that are important to God and to your soul.
Prayer: Heavenly Father thank you for reminding us to look after our souls today. To see the good around us that will brighten our soul. Amen.
