Instructions

Exodus 20:1-17 v 6 “But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands.”

Usually, I abbreviate the bible verse chosen from the lectionary used by many churches around the world, for 2024, year B plus Advent Year C (The revised common lectionary, 2008) But for today the passage should be read as is. Familiar passages have different messages for different people and for me I picked out the verse that stood out, v 6. Read the whole passage a couple of times and see what stands out for you. This is how God through the bible teaches us. The first verse includes the word instructions which is where the heading for this blog post comes from. It is always a joy to learn more about God. When I am writing what he wants me to say I feel a deep joy inside me, a peace. I learn’t today our God is lavish with His love, over and over again through the generations! What incentive to obey His instructions!

“You must not misuse the name of the Lord your God.”
Exodus 20 v 7

Prayer: Heavenly Father who is lavish in sharing His love for us thank you for giving us the instructions we need to find joy in this world and in the heavenly world to come. Amen.
