Honest worship, love in worship, personal cost to worship, obedience, and complete surrender. These are the five elements of worship we have shared with you today. Can you recall a time when you were aware of one or more of these expressions of worship in your life that you might like to share?
Tori was given this hymn for us to enjoy today and think about the wonderful ways you have enjoyed worship that you might like to share!
More detailed note on obedience:-
Abraham’s Willingness to Sacrifice His Son,: Genesis 22:12-14
12 “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”
13 Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram[a] caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. 14 So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”
Abraham pleased the Lord, and went on to change the world, because of obedience. However, obedience, in the eyes of God, is even greater than any sacrifice or gift we could give him. Worshipping God through obedience means putting your faith into action by aligning your daily life with His will. Rather than just singing or attending services, true obedience honors God in your relationships, choices, and everyday tasks. It is fundamentally motivated by a deep love and reverence for Him.

This week Nancy led us with the theme of Angels. She introduced us to the concepts of Angels in human form, of divine Angels that give us specific messages, such as those who told the shepherds of the birth of the messiah, and those who appeared in the tomb when Jesus was newly resurrected. And then there is Lucifer and his followers, the fallen angels, who we have to watch out for as they try and tempt us away from our loving God. She reminded us that we are above Angels but that God is above us all and that we might have encountered Angels and not known it.
