Blessed is the one who delights in the law of the Lord. That person in like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither- whatever they do prospers. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
Yesterday I went for a walk in a wood and encountered some really old trees. I wondered what they had seen over the years they had been growing there. I was thankful for the shade they produced, for the comfort of the strong and steady trunk. Fellow Christians in my life have seen many things, have supported me over the years of my faith journey, for which I am thankful. There is always another way in this life that leads to destruction. Take inspiration from the trees around you today and choose to delight in the law of the Lord!
Prayer: Heavenly Father we thank you for the trees in this world , the many different varieties and different colors of green. We also thank you for the fellow Christians that help us to bear fruit in your name. Amen.
