Psalm14 v 3 “But no, all have turned away; all have become corrupt or useless. No one does good, not a single one!”

Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good. The Lord looks down from heaven. But no, all have turned away; all have become corrupt or useless. No one does good, not a single one! God is with those who obey Him. The Lord will protect His people. When the Lord restores His people, Jacob will shout with joy, and Israel will rejoice.

Is life like a puzzle? We are all in a box, some upside down, some the right way but all nonsense until someone starts putting the pieces together. Images that on their own mean nothing but when joined with others, pictures start to appear. And when the hands that made it our finished a wonderful picture emerges, all the different shapes have been united as one and together it is wonderful.

This is the picture I see in this psalm. A message relevant at that time and for us today. People all around us denying God, even in our own lives we fall short of what God requires us to do. But God’s hand is at work, putting the pieces together and the Lord who protects His people will restore His people. And the Jews (Jacob) and the world (Israel) will rejoice. Whatever is going on in your life if you ask God will have a hand in it.

” When the Lord restores His people, Jacob will shout with joy, and Israel will rejoice.” Psalm 14 v 7b

Prayer: Holy God who takes the many puzzle pieces of our lives and makes then whole please help us this week to think more about you, about others, and about the world. Amen.
