Sing!

Zephaniah: 3: 14-20 v 15b “For the Lord Himself, the King of Israel, will live among you!”

Sing, shout allowed, be glad and rejoice with all your heart! For the Lord Himself, the King of Israel, will live among you! He is a mighty savior; with His love He will calm all your fears.  On that day I will gather you together and bring you home again. I, the Lord, have spoken.

It is the most wonderful time of the year. As the nights get longer, wonderful Christmas lights light up our neighborhood and one house even sings- the lights are synchronized to a radio station and flash along with the songs. Part of our family Christmas tradition is to go and watch a song or two. Why does light in the darkness make us feel good? Why is a candle flickering when the power is out warm and comforting? Why do we sing with joy at this time of year? Because the Lord came down from heaven to live amongst us. A servant King, humble and fragile as a baby. A light to guide us in this world and prepare us for the next, so sing and be glad!

Prayer: Holy God, we thank you for the wonderful Christmas story, and sing with the angels today and every day! Amen
