Isaiah 60: 1-9 v 9 “They are ships from lands that trust in me. They are bringing the people of Israel home from far away, carrying their silver and gold.”
Let your light shine for all to see. The glory of the Lord shines over Jerusalem. All nations will come to your light. Look and see for everyone is coming home. Your eyes will shine, and your heart will thrill with joy. Vast caravans of camels will converge on you. The people of Sheba will bring gold and frankincense and will come worshipping the Lord. And what do I see flying like clouds to Israel, like doves to their nests? They are ships from lands that trust in me. They are bringing the people of Israel home from far away, carrying their silver and gold.

As I was born in the UK but since have lived more of my life in Canada, I can appreciate this idea of coming home. There is a strong bond between where you were raised, although I do not want to go back there to live. If the Israelites are bringing silver and gold, they too must have been successful people in the countries they had chosen to live in. Multinational people bringing different things from each country with the one goal of worshipping the Lord, being drawn together by the light! Everyone is coming home! That is the goal we are all looking towards to come home to worship God!
Prayer: Holy God we thankyou for the wonderful pictures in your word today that reestablish in our lives today the goal of coming home. Help us to follow the light of Jesus to find he joy in our hearts. Amen.
Footnote: I have missed a few days of blogging due to an injured knee and subsequent investigations to allow me to be on the mend today. This was one of the times when I really appreciated the prayers of others as I was preoccupied by pain and decreased mobility. Thanks to a loving community and a greater God!
Welcome Home, dear Janet! â¡â¡
