John 17: 20-26 v 20 “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message.”
I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me before the world began! Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.
God loves, Jesus prays, the Holy Spirit guides. Before the world began, these were in place to make the world an ideal place. But we have a choice. To live joyfully surrounded by the love of God, to live peacefully with Jesus, to live comforted with hugs from the Holy Spirit.
We all need God to live our best life in this world. We need Jesus to be our friend. We need the Holy Spirit to encourage us when we are down. We need the spiritual practices of prayer, praise and doing good works. We need the love of God to be in us, the peace of Jesus to be in us, and the comfort of the Holy Spirit to be in us. That is the prayer of Jesus!
Prayer: Heavenly Father who loves all believers help us each day to live with that love, to demonstrate the peace found in Jesus and the comfort from the Holy spirit. Amen.
