Colossians 2:6-15 v 10 “So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.”
And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow Him. Let your roots grow down into Him and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong, and you will overflow with thankfulness. So, you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority…. Because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead.

Our grandchildren are fighting with each other, “I am the boos of you” says the eldest, two others chime in “No you are not!” Then in comes Dad, I am the boss, then I join in, “My house, my rules.” Generational hierarchy is one way to solve simple problems but as “our roots grow down” who ultimately has the last say and to add another question oft repeated in our house at this time, why? In an age when physical sacrifices were common and the ultimate sacrifice today is still to lay down one’s life for a friend, Jesus died for us all. And the mighty power of God raised Him. Christ is the head over every ruler and authority. Christ who is love; it is love that rules us. Why? Because we trust in the mighty power of God. Then your roots can grow deep, and we are thankful.
Prayer: Heavenly Father we thankyou for your almighty power that keeps us humble and responding in love to address conflict around us in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
