Faith, love perseverance, and gentleness

1 Timothy 6:11-19 v 11b “Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.”

Run from all evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance and gentleness. Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life that God has called you. Obey this command without wavering. For” at just the right time Christ will be revealed from heaven by the blessed and Almighty God. All honor and power to Him forever! Amen” Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives all we need for our enjoyment. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others, so that they may experience true life.

It’s always a struggle as I am preparing for a trip to keep on track with present daily issues as you look to the future and make plans for your own enjoyment. Paul reminds us in this letter to Timothy of the important things to be done every day- to live a godly life, with faith, love, perseverance and gentleness. So, as my anxiety rises, I must keep reading the bible, adding devotional readings from others to support my learning each day. To love myself and all those around me whatever I am doing. To look at the goal of doing Gods work and continue to focus using the skills He has given me to keep going on the path towards the great light. And to take a deep breath, and time to slow down and gently move forward to do all these things.

May you take your faith and love and persevere gently in all you do today.

Prayer: Almighty God who provides a great light to guide us each day help us today to be gentle with those around us who are supporting and enabling us to persevere. Amen.
