Isaiah 65:17,19,24,25 “Look! I am creating new heavens and a new earth, and no one will even think about the old ones anymore. I will rejoice over Jerusalem and delight in my people. And the sound of weeping and crying will be heard in it no more. I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers! The wolf and the lamb will feed together. The lion will eat hay like a cow. But the snakes will eat dust. In those days no one will be hurt or destroyed on My holy mountain. I, the LORD, have spoken!”

“God shall create joy and delight; the wolf and the lamb together.”
God does not promise us a perfect life here in this world. As followers of Jesus, we will find ourselves in situations where our faith is tested by a world that pushes us into hard circumstances and where we will have to make tough decisions. The Bible scriptures do say that we are promised the beauty of a new life and a new Kingdom where peace and joy and harmony will reign. But we will also face circumstances where we will discover whether our faith is genuine or not. There is a lot of human suffering and injustice in this world. As followers of Jesus, we are to join with God against injustice. With God’s strength and courage, we will remain firm in our resolve.
Prayer: Dear God, because of the Risen Christ, we are called to make decisions that will honor Your Holy name. Help us to be strong and to have the courage to follow in Your Way for justice in this world. And through Christ, we look forward when there will be no suffering, no death, no tears and only peace in this, Your New World. Amen.
