Our Fortress 

Psalm 46 v 7 “The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress.”

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge! God dwells in that city, from the very break of day God will protect it. The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. Come, see the glorious works of the Lord. “Be still and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”

I am home, a little lighter, a little sad, and a lot humbler for the amazing things that He has done. Home to appreciate having a warm shower, family to hug, a variety of meat and vegetables. Sad that God although my refuge and strength is more of a private matter here at home rather than something to sing about as you start your workday. Humble because of the wisdom that is in the pages of the bible, a living document, that when you are still and quiet helps you to understand God, his purpose and His way. That the differences in this world can only be righted by a loving God who cares for us all, and asks only that we believe in Him, to be changed by Him, and then offer His love to others.

Prayer: Almighty God, who helps us in times of trouble, and keeps us safe make clear the path you have for us as we still out minds today. Amen.
