Ready!

Matthew 24: 36-44 v 41 “Two women will be grinding flour at the mill; one will be taken, the other left”

However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows. When the Son of Man returns it will be like it was in Noah’s day. People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood    came and swept them all away. Two women will be grinding flour at the mill; one will be taken, the other left. So you too must keep watch. The Son of Man will come when least expected.

University students are getting ready for exams. They are completing projects and have a deadline and specific time when they must be ready for an exam. The same with Christmas plans we know that December 24th all the shopping and wrapping must be done. Some are early starters and like to be done well before the date, some cram and shop at the last minute and others use systems that are unique to them. But what if as in the return of Jesus do we do if the deadline is unknown? The simple answer is always to be ready. But what does that look like? For some it will look like keeping a prayer journal and reading scripture daily. For others regular charitable donations and helping as a volunteer in our community. Our spiritual journey can be unique to each of us as we shine the light of Christ to others but we must always be ready.

“So you to must keep watch

Prayer: Heavenly Father as we listen for your voice everyday help us to hear when you call so that we can follow your Son and always be ready for when He comes again. Amen.
