Change my mind!

Jerimiah 26: 1-9 v 3 “Perhaps they will listen and turn from their evil ways. Then I will change my mind about the disaster I am ready to pour out on them because of their sins.”

The message came to Jeremiah from the Lord early in the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah. This is what the Lord says, stand in the courtyard, make an announcement, give them my entire message. Perhaps they will listen and turn from their evil ways. Then I will change my mind about the disaster I am ready to pour out on them because of their sins. “If you will not listen, and I sent them again and again, I will destroy this temple. “Kill him they shouted. “What right do you have to prophesy in the Lord’s name.”

” And all the people threatened him as he stood in front of the temple.” Jeremiah 26 v 9

My driving is a disaster! Too fast!  However, the new messages that light up in most small towns that tell you your speed limit are helping me to slow down. Why do we need constant reminders about rules that are there to make us safe? Why does God have to remind us again and again, of the right things to set as priorities? Luckily we have a passionate God who wants the best for us and reminds us just like those signs to love Him and each other. Be thankful today for a chance to allow God to change his mind about our faithfulness, and our actions that should speak to the goodness of His ways.

Prayer: Almighty God we thank you for your mercy as you give us a chance to change our ways with repeated signs when we listen to you. Amen.
