1 Corinthians 12 :1-11, 11 v ‘It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.”
“A spiritual gift is given to each one of us so we can help each other.” The gift of wise advice, special knowledge, great faith, the gift of healing, power to perform miracles, ability to prophesy, decern, speak in unknown languages, and interpretation of these languages.”
We, those who believe in God and that spirituality is part of us all, combining with mind and body to be one. We, are all given a spiritual gift so that we can help each other. How do we know what gift we have? Do we get more than one? I have looked at this list and said to myself “it would be nice to be able to perform miracles” but generally that is not my gift. We can all experience the miracle of a wonderful sunrise, or the beauty of sun shining on new fallen snow but that dramatic against all odds miracle has not happened to others through me and as we read the end of the verse above “he alone decides which gift each person has.” What is our job then? To pray and respond to the words in the bible, to listen to what other Christians tell you and to circumstances and your gifts will be made known to you as good things happen to those around you.

Prayer: Almighty Father Thank you for the wonder of giving each one of us a spiritual gift. Show us this week though others, circumstances, and your word what our gifts are so that we might better serve those we meet this week. Amen
