Clear Insight?

Psalm 19 v 8 “The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.”

“The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple, may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.”

Our lives for the past two years have been anything but clear. Government decisions on how to manage the pandemic have at times been contradictory, too simple, and too complicated. As individuals we are left feeling confused, disorientated, sad and angry as well as many other negative feelings that are getting bigger and bigger with time. So how can we change things around. Find new purpose in this new world?

I am writing this before the big announcement expected tomorrow, and you are reading this a few days after. Whether we are still restricted or slowly opening up by now you will know. Either way following the “commands of the Lord are clear” will bring “joy to the heart” in this time of restrictions as the psalmist wrote over 2000 years ago. Everyday we can enjoy the sunrise and the sunset, the changes of the seasons. I have not always used my time productively. My house still has dust collecting in corners, and I have eaten too much making my clothes a little too tight, but I have found comfort in the Lord, reading, and writing about the wonderful words in the bible. I have found a new way to be, more relaxed and less stressed, laughing more, seeing Him around me every day,” bringing joy to my heart.”

The way forward is clear. “The commands of the Lord are right, giving insight for living”

Prayer: Heavenly Father thank you for showing us that you love us with every change we see in the skies above us. Thank you for the joy in our hearts from learning more about your word. May we turn our complaints into praise to Jesus, our rock Amen.
