Change

Acts 9: 1-6 v 6 ( 7-20) “now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

Saul wanted to kill the people of “The Way”, followers of Jesus. He had letters from the high priests asking for co operation from those in charge in the city of Damascus. Saul was travelling with some men on the road and a bright light from heaven shone down around him. He fell to the ground and closed his eyes against this light. He heard a voice “Saul, Saul why are you persecuting me?” “I am Jesus” now get up and go into the city and I will tell you what to do.”

“Saul, Saul why are you persecuting me?” “I am Jesus” now get up and go into the city and I will tell you what to do.” Acts 9 v 6

The story continues up to chapter 20. Saul when he opened his eyes could not see. Was led by his men to a house where he prayed but did not eat or drink for three days. Then a man was sent to put his hands on his eyes and “instantly something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he regained his sight. “Immediately he began preaching about Jesus saying he was the son of God”

My whole life I have been connected to a church sometimes more than at others but as a teenager accepting Jesus as my saviour at a youth rally was a commitment that I stand by today. Not very dramatic like the events that changed Saul into a believer but just as profound. I used to wish for a more dramatic story when I heard others who had been dramatically changed from a life of crime or drugs or party living to following Jesus but now I realize whatever your story making the decision to change your life and follow Jesus is the important thing. That He will walk with you from that moment on whether you are aware of it or not “ and you will be told what to do.”

Prayer: Loving God thank you for showing us through your son Jesus that you love us and will show us the way to grow deeper with you in all we do. Amen
