Psalm 104:24-34, 35b v 31 “May the glory of the Lord endure forever. May the Lord find joy in what He has made.”
“What a large number of things you have made, O Lord! You made them all by wisdom. The sea is so big and wide with countless creatures, living things both large and small. Ships sail on it and others (Leviathan) play in it. May the glory of the Lord endure forever. May the Lord find joy in what He has made. ” I will sing to the Lord throughout my life. May my thoughts be pleasing to Him. I will find joy in the Lord. Praise the Lord, my soul.
In this psalm we see again the order that is part of the world in which we live. That God made the sea for work and play. Growing up in the middle of an island it was always exciting to see the sea. It usually meant we were on vacation and the days ahead would involve swimming, playing on the beach, listening to the sound of the waves, and watching the tides comes and go. As an adult I continue to enjoy visiting a beach and the ocean or in Ontario the beaches of the great lakes,( although the smell of the salty air seems to add something special. ) Made with wisdom.

How many of us if asked to close our eyes and imagine a happy place to relax and reduce the tension of the day think of a beach and the sound of the waves gently moving back and forth? Not only do we find joy in creation, but God does too.
Praise the Lord, my soul.
Prayer: Holy God thank you for providing us with the beauty of your creation and especially the oceans and beaches to help us connect with your joy. Amen.
