God is no fool!

Galatians 6 ( 1-6), 7-16 v 9 “We can’t allow ourselves to get tired of living the right way.”

In this the last paragraph of Paul’s letter to the Galatians , he starts with a popular quote “Whatever you plant is what you will harvest.’ He also says ,” We can’t allow ourselves to get tired of living the right way.” Whenever we have the opportunity, we have to do what is good for everyone, especially the family of believers.” There were obviously arguments about circumcision. Paul states “ It doesn’t matter if you are circumcised or not. What matters is being a new creation.”

Sometimes I get sidetracked by the practical. When I was working, I often felt that organizing my work to go on vacation was harder than staying and doing the job myself. The preparing for company led to being exhausted when they arrived. With young children every day was so busy I missed playing with them. Luckily for me our loving God, who is no fool, has given me something called retirement and grandchildren. In retirement I have time to be a new creation. To readjust my priorities and to try and live the right way, loving God, myself, and those around me with equal measure.

“Peace and mercy will come to rest on all those who conform to this principle. ” Galatians 6 v 16

Maybe today you need to stop worrying about the practical, whether we are circumcised or not. Whatever the practical issues that are causing you to miss the wonder of helping others especially those who are believers and experience the love of God in all you do.

Prayer: Almighty and merciful God, who sees through to our hearts, show us today your love in all we do so that we can share it with those around us. Amen.
