Psalm 80: 1-2, 8-19 v 19 “O Lord God, commander of armies, restore us, and smile on us so that we may be saved.”
“Wake up your power and come to save us.” You forced out the nations and planted a vine.” Come to “take care of what your right hand planted.” O Lord God, commander of armies, restore us, and smile on us so that we may be saved.”
This week as part of the mid-week reflection series I suggested that everyone take time everyday to think about God and where He is in our lives and to listen for where He wants us to work or for what He want us to learn. I found in this psalm the same cry “come to help this vine”, Take care of what your right hand planted. We all long for God to save us and to smile on us .
It might be a struggle at first but turning to God everyday will allow the vine to bear fruit, and God to smile on us.
Prayer: Father, thankyou for being there for us, for your Son who stands beside us and for the Holy Spirit who guides us every day. Amen.
