God  Looks down from heaven

Psalm 14v 2 “The Lord looks down from heaven on Adam’s descendants to see if there is anyone who acts wisely, if there is anyone who seeks help from God. “

David the writer of Psalm 14 starts with the openly Godless, who proclaim “There is no God”. But adds “there is no one who does good things.” “Everyone has turned away. Together they have become rotten to the core. “The Lord looks down from heaven on Adam’s descendants to see if there is anyone who acts wisely, if there is anyone who seeks help from God. ““There they are- panic stricken because God is with the person who is righteous.” …..” because the Lord God is their refuge.”

We have all been there. Listened to the news and thought is there anyone good on earth? Someone once told me that on a scale of good to bad people God being ultimately good, even the saintliest person you could think of would still be miles away from God. David saw that too. But God looks down from heaven anyway. He never gives up. And he finds people worth saving, and the ungodly people are panic stricken. God will take that small slice of good in people and help them. Because that’s who God is. He looks down from heaven and will protect His own. The warnings are for those who say “there is no God”

“God is with the person who is righteous” Psalm 14 v 5

Loving Father, thank you for looking for us as we try to follow your teaching in the world today. Thank you for not giving up on us and being our refuge. Amen
