2 Timothy 1: 1-14v 11 “ I was appointed to be a messenger of this Good News, an apostle, and a teacher. “
In Paul’s second letter to Timothy, he encourages him to continue to show his faith to others. A faith passed down to him by his grandmother and his mother. He is reminded to fan the gift given to him into flames. God planned that Jesus Christ would show us God’s kindness. “ I was appointed to be a messenger of this Good News, an apostle, and a teacher. “ and by the power of the holy spirit who lives within us, guard the truth.
For many years I struggled to read the bible. I understood it was meant to have great meaning but I didn’t have the time to rest in God. To contemplate and to pray for understanding. I wanted a quick fix , instant understanding , and then to get on with what I thought was important. Looking back God still stood by me but allowing the Holy Spirit within us to teach us, good people around you to fan the flames and time to be still the Good News has come to life. It guides me reassures me and fills me with joy. Now I have to learn to pass it on.

Prayer: Holy Father thank you for the wonder of your word in the bible. Give us all opportunities to share the Good News with the gifts you have given us. Amen.
